Calendar launch brings together community for Christmas tea dance
Living+ Tenants of United Welsh, the South Wales based housing association got together to launch their 2013 calendar at Llanhilleth Institute in Blaenau Gwent and celebrate with a Christmas tea dance.
Living+ is United Welsh’s housing provision for people 55years of age and over. It is a service that specialises in meeting the lifestyle needs of this group of customers and is committed to developing services as people’s needs change. The Living+ team runs 14 schemes which offer peace of mind, comfort and a sociable environment to its tenants.
Tenants of the 14 schemes have worked with their Scheme Manager to deliver a calendar for 2013. Each scheme has selected their own images which represent their community and the people living there. From award winning gardens to a bowling team the calendar represents the diverse nature of this audience but gives the whole of the Living+ community the unity of working together.
The calendar was launched at a festive tea dance bringing all the Living+ communities together to celebrate their achievement. Over 100 tenants attended the event which included a number of songs from the Beaufort Male Voice Choir, a tea dance and singalong supported by the age positive charity WRVS.
The Mayor of Blaenau Gwent, Cllr Graham Bartlett, opened the event and before its close Santa visited to deliver the calendars.
Jo Green, Head of Living+ at United Welsh said; “The day was truly a success for United Welsh and our Living+ tenants as the first social event specifically aimed at all our Living+ communities. United Welsh are pleased to support initiatives such as this which brings all our Living+ communities together.”
